The Hydrographic Society UK - particularly the members in Scotland - are proud to be hosting Hydro14, the latest in the International Federation of Hydrographic Societies' of world-renowned series of hydrographic symposia which dates back to 1976.

The three-day conference and exhibition will take place at the Aberdeen Exhibition & Convention Centre (AECC) in the Bridge of Don area of Aberdeen from 28-30th October 2014. Hydro14 will be the 22nd event in the Hydro sequence, the 19th to take place in Europe, 11th in the UK and will mark the conference's return to Aberdeen, twenty years after it was first held in the Granite City.

Aberdeen, the third largest city in Scotland, is situated between the rivers Dee and Don and since the discovery of North Sea oil & gas in the 1970s has been acknowledged as the Energy Capital of Europe.

Hydro14 will feature everything delegates have come to expect from Hydro conferences: a Technical Programme featuring keynote and papers presentations supported by Workshops & Technical Visits, an Exhibition housing approximately 60 trade stands and a Social Programme including an Ice-Breaker Party, Reception at the city's magnificent Maritime Museum and the flagship Conference Dinner.

In addition, Hydro14 will be the first Hydro to feature an IHO-led Session and Stakeholder Forum - adopting a model similar to the one developed for Digital Hydrography on the Maritime Web - which will enable delegates to engage in a two-way dialogue with key personnel from the International Hydrographic Organization and help to inform their future policies.
